The Dockers haven’t lost consecutive games since a three-game streak that ended in round six and now must win at least two of their final three games, with their season on the line. Amiss said their “destiny is in our own hands” ahead of crucial matches against Geelong, Greater Western Sydney at Port Adelaide, who all now sit above the Dockers on the ladder. The young forward’s fourth goal in the dying seconds of the clash with the ******** tied the game up, but Essendon skipper Zach Merrett linked up with Sam Durham to surge away from the defining final centre-bounce, which led to the winning score. That particular moment we’ll take a lot from,” he explained. “It’s easy on television when it’s in slow motion. When someone is coming streaming out of the midfield with no pressure on them, the natural instinct as a defender is to press.” After declaring they weren’t hungry enough in the final stages on Sunday, Amiss said the Dockers want to bring the heat against Geelong at Optus Stadium on Saturday. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///ywAAAAAAQABAAACAUwAOw==Camera IconJye Amiss celebrates his fourth goal against Essendon. Credit: Daniel Pockett/Getty Images “We want to bring our best contest and pressure game, we know that when we’re at our best we defend the ground really well, our pressure gauge is right up there,” he said. “We just have a massive collective buy-in from all the players. “This weekend is our main focus. The destiny is in our hands. Our focus is just to get the job done this week. “The competition is so close and there is marginal stuff between teams now, so if you are not bringing your best each week and there is something slightly off … teams can punish you.” The Dockers’ midfield, which was beaten 15-11 in the centre clearance count at the weekend, is set for a boost, with both Nat Fyfe and Matthew Johnson likely to be available for selection.
