Επτά Αμερικανοί τραυματίστηκαν από πυραυλική επίθεση στην αεροπορική βάση Αΐν αλ-Άσαντ στο Ιράκ. Πέντε στρατιώτες και δύο εργαζόμενοι τραυματίστηκαν, με πέντε να νοσηλεύονται στη βάση και δύο να μεταφερθούν αλλού, χωρίς κίνδυνο για τη ζωή τους. Το Πεντάγωνο αναφέρει ότι η επίθεση οφείλεται σε παραστρατιωτικές ομάδες συνδεδεμένες με το Ιράν. Η ιρακινή κυβέρνηση κατέσχεσε ένα φορτηγό με οκτώ ρουκέτες και αναζητά τους δράστες. Ο Λευκός Οίκος ανακοίνωσε ότι ο πρόεδρος Τζο Μπάιντεν συζήτησε με την αντιπρόεδρο Κάμαλα Χάρις μέτρα για την προστασία των δυνάμεών τους. Η ανάπτυξη αυτής της κρίσης θεωρείται επικίνδυνη, σύμφωνα με αξιωματούχους των ΗΠΑ και του Ισραήλ.
