RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A star Texas athlete transferring to North Carolina Central University has *****.

Terrance Howard was moving from the University of Alabama to Durham to join the N.C. Central football team.

During the North Carolina portion of his trip, Howard was hit by a vehicle near Salisbury on July 22nd.

The Texas native was moving to the Triangle after securing a full scholarship to play for N.C. Central.

According to the football player’s family, Howard was involved in a minor wreck on Interstate 85. Howard was hit by another car when he got out to check on the other driver involved in the initial ******, his family said.

Howard ***** in a Charlotte hospital on Thursday, August 1.
