Man shot in hands during dispute over car repair in Dayton; suspect charged

Aug. 5—A Dayton man is accused of ********* a man in the hands last week who had been working on his car because the repairs were taking too long and cost too much.

A warrant was issued for the arrest of Leshon Denair Rolack Jr., 31, for two counts of felonious ******** after charges were filed Monday in Dayton Municipal Court.

Dayton police responded around 10 a.m. July 29 to a ********* in the 400 block of Holt Street.

The gunshot victim, who fled in his pickup truck to the 900 block of West Riverview Avenue, told police he was fixing a vehicle and that the customer, identified as Rolack, didn’t like how long it was taking or how expensive and wanted his money back, according to an affidavit.

The gunshot victim “stated that he gave him back partial and that Rolack did not like that. Rolack retrieved a firearm and shot (the other man) in both hands,” the affidavit stated.

The gunshot victim said he tried to ***** back but his **** was not working and he fled the area.

Police found him in the 900 block of West Riverview Avenue. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries that were not life-threatening, Dayton police Lt. Steven Bauer said.

Rolack also left the scene in his vehicle before police arrived. Witnesses and the gunshot victim identified him as the *********, according to the affidavit.
