Prison Architect 2 delayed indefinitely

After passing hands to support developer Kokku following the mutual split from Double Eleven, Paradox Interactive has revealed the indefinite delay of Prison Architect 2. The game was slated to release next month.

, the team addressed the delay as a result of wanting to focus on its performance and content. Due to its uncertain new release date, refunds will be issued to all those who pre-ordered the game. It gives a beacon of hope that it does still feel confident in the game’s potential, but it needs to raise the bar of quality before it can be released.

This would mark the game’s third delay, with it initially earmarked for a March 26 release before sliding down to May 7, then September 3. Now, though, we don’t know when this game is releasing.

It’s been a messy year for Paradox, not only did it split from Double Eleven, but it also shelved Rod Humble-led Life by You, leading to its studio shutting down, but it also ******* to ensure a stable release of Cities: Skylines 2, which led to the console ports getting slapped with a delay. The backlash even got so harsh the Swedish publisher even addressed it, noting that it made the “wrong calls” with some projects.

Frankly, it’s shocking that Paradox is still floating around and shows no sign of shutting down at this point.
