Players hoping to jump on board the rebooted Modern Warfare series and are perhaps less interested in trying out all the post-launch content will need a comprehensive timeline to figure out when each game is set. Fortunately, the series follows a fairly linear structure, with 2019's Modern Warfare taking place in October 2019 and 2022's Modern Warfare 2 taking place in July 2022.
