Max Payne Unreal Engine 5 Trailer Sets the Benchmark Too High as Remedy Blows Alan Wake 2 Budget on Remake

Remedy Entertainment is very busy nowadays; they have been tirelessly working on the expansions for Alan Wake 2. They are known for giving all they can to their games. Games like Alan Wake, Control, Alan Wake 2, and Max Payne have shown Remedy Entertainment’s dedication to storytelling in video games. That’s why almost all of their games win a bunch of awards when they launch.

Fans could not contain their excitement when the remakes of Max Payne 1 and 2 were announced. That excitement reached sky-high when it was announced that these remakes would actually be developed by Remedy Entertainment. No one actually knows what those games would actually look like, but some eager fans seem to have made a short showcase of what Max Payne would look like when developed using Unreal Engine.

Fan-made Unreal Engine Max Payne looks incredible

When Max Payne was launched for PlayStation 2 and Windows back in 2001, gamers were blown away. A neo-noir story in video games that has some incredibly addictive gameplay mechanics too. With its bullet-time mechanic, it offered gamers an awesome new gimmick to try.

Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne was more of the same, a shorter story, but everything that fans loved from the first one. Hence, it became a success too, and then Remedy Entertainment decided to move on from the series and develop Alan Wake.

Rockstar Games, the publisher of the first game, decided to give this series a third installment. They decided to develop a new installment using their in-house Rockstar Advanced Game Engine, also known as RAGE. This engine previously powered GTA 4 and Red ***** Redemption, and the results were incredible.

The game looked very detailed and played even better than its predecessors. While ********* fans still do not see it as an ideal addition to the franchise, Max Payne 3 ******** a standout installment in the series.

After the incredible showcase that was Max Payne 3, fans could not help but wonder one thing: how would Max Payne 1 and 2 look with upgraded visuals? Rockstar Games decided to answer this question; they hired Remedy Entertainment to remake the first two installments for modern platforms.

They would be starting work on those games any time now. But fans have no patience; hence, one of them decided to show the world their own version of the Max Payne remake. They developed some scenes in Unreal Engine and compiled them into a video, calling it a trailer.

and the reflections in this video are a thing of beauty. They also decided to add dialogue to the trailer, showcasing Max Payne ********* an ****** as they are on the floor. Max then goes on to ****** the man to ******.

Once he has done that, he is shown going through a bunch of areas from the first game. Drenched in rain, the character model looks pretty good. The environment looks even better.

There are a number of issues with this video

While the visuals look decent enough, there are some problems with this video. For one, there’s a high chance they would not be using Unreal Engine for their remakes. On the other hand, this video has a very low-quality character design that does not quite hit the mark.

The details on the environment are plenty, but the textures look very low quality. And the most unusual detail is that Max seems to be walking with his head hung low. Its as if there’s some issue with the character mode. Here’s hoping Remedy Entertainment does a better job, and they probably will; they are the proper masters of making lifelike games.
