***** has filed a new trademark for ‘Yakuza Wars’ ahead of the Tokyo Game Show.

/X user Wario64, ***** has trademarked the title ‘Yakuza Wars,’ which could be the next extensive instalment in the Like a Dragon series, a popular ***** franchise known for its unique blend of action, drama, and humour. The filing comes ahead of the Tokyo Game Show in late September, and while the trademark doesn’t confirm it will be revealed at the event, the timing has led some people to speculate it isn’t a coincidence.

The name alone has also garnered some excitement as many players speculate about the potential crossover between two beloved ***** franchises, Yakuza and Sakura Wars. Imagining their favourite Yakuza characters with mechs – But it must be stressed that there’s no confirmation of such a crossover as of yet.

The last instalment to the Yakuza series was Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, released in January 2024. The title followed the story of Kazuma Kiryu and Ichiban Kasuga, two of the series’ most beloved characters, as they explored the sights of Japan and Hawaii.
