What started as a playful “Nerf war” has ended with a Geraldton man being convicted of assaulting his 10-year-old stepson after he upped the ante and used a salt **** which injured the child.

In Geraldton Magistrates Court last week, Thommas William Patrick May, 32, pleaded guilty to the aggravated common ******** of his stepson in April last year.
