Paris Olympics 2024: Nicola Olyslagers wins silver, Eleanor Patterson earns bronze in Aussie high jump double

*********** duo Nicola Olyslagers and Eleanor Patterson have soared to a rare podium double, claiming silver and bronze respectively in the women’s high jump competition.

Olyslagers threatened Ukraine’s Yaroslava Mahuchikh in the hunt for gold, but ultimately had to settle for matching the silver medal she won in Tokyo three years ago after coming up short in a countback.

Both athletes cleared 2.00 metres as their top height, with the Aussie taking three attempts to pass it opposed to Mahuchikh’s one.

Patterson shared bronze with another Ukrainian in Iryna Gerashchenko to give each nation two athletes on a rare four-person podium.
