Celebrated for her unique perspective of the natural world through painting, sculptures, photography, installation and video, artist Janet Laurence has been announced as the latest artist in residence at The State Buildings. “I want to draw you into this space to express our interconnection with, and the fragility of, our nature and the wondrous and incredibly complex system into which we are all interconnected — together we are the tissue of one giant being — by not seeing our animate nature, is in fact our danger,” Laurence said. From August 5-15, guests will be able to observe Laurence within the buildings, attend in-conversation talks, or enjoy an afternoon tea with her in the Cape Arid Rooms.
