The problems with Starfield were apparent from the beginning. The game’s world felt incredibly lifeless and empty. Moreover, the writing was sloppy and not gripping at all. However, it seems like the game did check some boxes for space RPG players.

For a game as vast as this, there are usually tutorials and prologues to ease players into the game. However, when the game launched, it seemed like players were quick to jump ship, so much so that 25% of the players didn’t even make it past the game’s tutorial.

The site that reported the statistic now reports that 100% of recorded players have completed it. But all of this shows that despite the game being given some credit in mid-2024, almost a year after its launch, Bethesda lived up to its infamy of releasing titles in an unpolished state at launch.

While the upcoming Shattered Space expansion for the game looks promising, it is still uncertain if the game will be able to redeem itself. That is because of the negative word-of-mouth surrounding the title.
