Hiker rescued on 12th day of Oregon stretch of Pacific Crest Trail

A 65-year-old female hiker was rescued off of the Pacific Crest Trail in Lane County on Sunday after suffering a medical issue.

According to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office, crews managed to locate the hiker in a remote area east of Waldo Lake. The woman was on her 12th day on the Oregon section of the trail.

After providing initial medical care, 16 SAR members carried her two and a half miles using a stretcher equipped with a support wheel.

from the Pacific Crest Trail. On June 23, a woman in her mid-40s was rescued from the trail after falling off of a cliff and into a rock chute in Southern Oregon.

The hiker was rescued by an Oregon Army National Guard HH-60M ****** Hawk and transferred to emergency services after suffering several bruises and back issues.
