Man in his 40s threatened with hammer during robbery on Stirling Street, Perth

Police are appealing to the public for help regarding a terrifying armed robbery that took place in the city centre last weekend.

A man in his 40s was walking north along Stirling Street, Perth, at about 1.40am on July 27 when he was approached by an unknown male just before he reached the Brisbane Street intersection.

The unknown male then pushed the man, threatened him with a hammer, and then demanded he hand over personal property.

Police said the man complied before the unknown male then fled the scene on foot.

The unknown male has been described as being dark-skinned and was wearing a bucket hat.

Anyone with information regarding this incident, or who has dash-cam or mobile phone vision captured in the Stirling Street and surrounding area between 1:00am and 2:00am on July 27 is asked to call ****** Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report the information online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au.
