The project, which has received $500,000 from the federal government via This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up , is entering the engineering and design phase, which will determine the final changes. At a minimum, Radnor Road will likely move from a rural cross section road to an urban cross section road, outfitted with three lanes, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and street lighting, according to Peoria County Administrator Scott Sorrel. There is not yet a final design for Radnor Road’s reconstruction or an official timeline, but Sorrel said Peoria County views this as a multi-year project. Here’s what you need to know Radnor Road’s reconstruction has ties to another major Peoria road project — the proposed extension of Pioneer Parkway. Sorrel said the first phase of Pioneer Parkway’s proposed extension would connect it to Radnor Road, which means Radnor Road would need to be reoutfitted to handle the new traffic flow. Phase 1 of Radnor Road’s reconstruction would stretch from Willow Knolls Road to just north of Radnor Road’s railroad crossing, near Kellogg Golf Course’s north section, where it is also likely Pioneer Parkway’s extension would meet the road. Phase 2 of Radnor Road’s work would stem from the railroad crossing to Route 6, and phase 3 would extend from Route 6 to Alta Road. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///ywAAAAAAQABAAACAUwAOw== A multi–year three-phase plan to upgrade Radnor Road in North Peoria will start with the intersection at Willow Knolls Road north to the railroad crossing past Kellogg Golf Course. LaHood helped secure $500,000 last year for engineering design and is working on securing more money for the project in this coming fiscal year’s budget, Sorrel said. A local match of $2.9 million, partly paid for by money from the Tri-County Regional Planning Commission, would come from local governments, Sorrel said. The rest of the funding would come from federal dollars.
