Eddy Gordo joins the Tekken 8 roster next week, reveal trailer confirms

Classic fighter Eddy Gordo will be the first DLC character added to Tekken 8 next week, Bandai Namco has announced.

On Friday the company released a reveal trailer for Gordo, who will be released on April 1 at 16:00 PDT for season pass holders, and available to purchase for everyone else on April 4.

Eddy will be followed by three more characters, set to be released in the summer, autumn and winter, making up the game’s Season 1 character content.

Initially appearing in Tekken 3, Eddy is one of the more popular characters in the series, but also one of the most divisive. Fans like his elaborate capoeira kicks, but others think the ability to spam these kicks makes him an annoying character to ****** against.

The previous Tekken game, Tekken 7, launched on consoles with 36 characters but added a further 14 over the course of four seasons of DLC, including guest fighters like Negan from The Walking *****, Noctis from Final Fantasy 15 and Geese Howard from Fatal Fury.

As such, it’s likely that Eddy will be the first of many fighters set to be added to Tekken 8 over the course of the game’s life.
