Μια νέα έρευνα αναφέρει ότι ο εμβολιασμός κατά της COVID-19 μπορεί να έχει ανεπιθύμητες ενέργειες στο κατώτερο ουροποιητικό σύστημα και να προκαλεί υπερδραστήρια κύστη σε νεότερους ενήλικες. Η έρευνα περιλάμβανε 1.563 άτομα ηλικίας 18 έως 45 ετών που εμβολιάστηκαν και παρακολουθήθηκαν. Το εμβόλιο της Pfizer-BioNTech ήταν το πιο συχνά χορηγούμενο. Επίσης, αναφέρθηκε ότι περισσότερες γυναίκες παρουσίασαν υπερδραστηρία κύστης συγκριτικά με τους άνδρες μετά τον εμβολιασμό με AstraZeneca.
