Τουλάχιστον 30 άνθρωποι έχασαν τη ζωή τους λόγω των πλημμύρων στο Πακιστάν αυτήν την εβδομάδα, ενώ η πόλη Λαχώρη αντιμετώπισε τις περισσότερες βροχοπτώσεις εδώ και δεκαετίες. Η εποχή των μουσώνων προκάλεσε πλημμύρες και κατολισθήσεις στη Νότια Ασία, με ανθρώπινο κόστος τουλάχιστον 195 νεκρούς και πολλούς αγνοούμενους στην Ινδία. Οι βροχές στο βόρειο Πακιστάν προκάλεσαν καταστροφές και αύξησαν τον κίνδυνο ηλεκτροπληξιών. Στον Παντζάμπ, έγινε ρεκόρ βροχοπτώσεων, ενώ στην Ανουάρ Σεχζάντ παιδιά και ενήλικες έχασαν τη ζωή τους. Το Πακιστάν θεωρείται ευάλωτο στις καταστροφές από τις κλιματικές αλλαγές, με χιλιάδες νεκρούς και εκτοπισθέντες από τις πλημμύρες του 2022. Η κατάσταση επιβεβαιώθηκε από την επίσημη πηγή ΑΠΕ-ΜΠΕ.
