Tesla, Polestar EV sales slump in July

Tesla sales continue to fall short of the brand’s record 2023 tally in Australia, while Polestar is continuing to struggle.

According to July 2024 sales results reported by the Electric Vehicle Council, Tesla and Polestar posted double-digit declines compared with the same month last year.

Additionally, both Tesla and Polestar sales are down during the first seven months of this year compared to the same ******* last year.

No other brands were included in the Electric Vehicle Council’s July reporting.

From July, Tesla stopped supplying sales data to the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI) for use in its monthly VFACTS report. Polestar stopped doing this earlier this year.

VFACTS sales data, covering almost every other brand in Australia, will be published next week.

Tesla sold 46,116 vehicles in Australia in 2023, its best year yet and enough to propel it to eighth place among all car brands from 16th position in 2022.

Polestar sold 2463 vehicles in 2023, putting it ahead of the likes of Fiat and Genesis.
