Pilbara Minerals has toasted another production milestone — a day after Albemarle slammed the brakes on processing in the South West — in a tale of mixed fortunes for lithium producers in WA.

In a big bet on the long-term prospects of lithium, the Dale Henderson-led miner continues to ramp up capacity at its Pilgangoora operations and marked the completion of its P680 expansion project on Friday with a ceremonial ribbon cutting at its new processing plant.
