***** the Justice League Has Taken a Leaf out of Helldivers 2’s Book With Under the Radar Change to Its Season Pass

Helldivers 2 has been immensely popular among gamers on PC and PS5. The title is appreciated for its exciting gameplay loop and plenty of new content for players. Overall, it has been hailed as one of the best, if not the best, live-service titles ever.

On the other hand, ******** Squad: ***** the Justice League received a lot of flak from fans because the title was live service even before it came out. The reason was that Rocksteady, the game’s developer, is known for its competence with single-player games. But it seems like the former has positively influenced the latter, per a recent update.

Helldivers 2 seems to have influenced ***** the Justice League positively.

The game’s official X account shared details about its battle pass model and teased what was coming to the Season 1 Battle Pass with a post. Apart from various details, two offerings stand out compared to battle pass models of other live-service titles.

Firstly, if a player buys a battle pass once, it will never expire. For example, suppose one spends 1000 Luthorcoin in the game to buy a battle pass. In that case, it will be accessible until the game is supported by the developers, regardless of the ongoing season. Players can go back to previous battle pass content whenever they wish.

Secondly, the battle pass will have 76 tiers of unlockable rewards, and if one can reach the last tier, they will be rewarded with 1000 Luthorcoins again, which they can use to buy the next battle pass, making it a one-time purchase.

This was confirmed in this post on X:

As expected, players reacted positively to the news, but their responses also indicated a more significant problem the game seemed to face. This, by all means, is a classy move by Rocksteady, but it may not be enough to save the sinking ship that is the game.

The ******** Squad game seems to be ***** and ******* already.

It is certainly not known if a game that came out in February was packaged as an always-online co-op title and still only manages to clock around 550 peak players every day will be saved by this. If anything, after playing the title, fans started trickling back to previous Arkhamverse titles, which is anything but a good sign for the game itself.

Not to mention, fans in the comment section of the post embedded above were asking for more severe issues to be addressed in the game, such as the following:

Some others were reminded of the times when Rocksteady was known for its narrative-rich titles that used to be impactful and felt much more significant:

It will be interesting to see how the game pans out with this announcement and if it will be enough to propel it in the right direction. Do you think the title is already *****, or does it still have a shot at attracting more players? Let us know in the comment section below.
