has been diagnosed with a rare heart ******** forcing her to cancel all upcoming shows.

The 26-year-old Melbournian informed her fans on Tuesday that she has been in a London hospital recovering from a rare ******** called infective endocarditis.

The serious, complex heart condition is caused by an infection in the inner lining of a person’s heart that usually affects one or more heart valves, according to Health Direct.

in 2016, said it has caused “a multitude of distressing repercussions” as the infection took over “suddenly and frighteningly”.

The star took to social media two weeks ago updating fans that her absence was due to being in hospital but has only now shared her diagnosis.

“I am so, so lucky that I caught it early and landed in such a great hospital here in London that took amazing care of me.

“I was then transferred to a second hospital, one that is famous for dealing with this particular ********.”

Ray went on to say it shouldn’t come as a surprise that she would have to cancel all shows planned for the rest of this year.

“So, I imagine it will come as no surprise to you that unfortunately, I have cancelled all shows I planned for the remainder of the year to allow me the best chance of making a full recovery,” she said.

The musician also said she will have to undergo surgery at some point, has just completed a long course of intravenous antibiotics and was discharged from hospital two weeks ago.

“Due to the fact that I am stable, the doctors have encouraged me to spend time regaining some strength and immunity outside of hospital.

“While I’m still dealing with some complications, it’s already been healing being back out in the world,” she continued.

“I just take it one day at a time (my mum is also still in London with me).

“I know I will be telling this story in more detail when the time is right but for now I’m processing the trauma and taking things slowly. I can’t tell you how much your kind and thoughtful messages and comments have meant to me in this challenging time, I’m so grateful.”

Ray finished her statement with a sad ode to one of her catchy songs Heartbreak Baby.

“Can you believe I wrote I song about being a heartbreak baby and now I actually have a physically broken heart? Life is crazy and so precious.”

Infective endocarditis can also lead to several other complications, including heart valve damage, heart ********, kidney damage, sepsis and *******.

Endocarditis is usually a bacterial infection, but sometimes a fungal infection.

According to Health Direct, bacteria in a person’s bloodstream is more likely to infect their heart if it has already had some prior damage, such as a birth defect, prior ******** or having a pacemaker.
