June inflation numbers deliver relief for homeowners, with interest rate hike likely off the table

Perth homeowner Elaine Awad has let out a sigh of relief after the latest June inflation figures eased the likelihood of an interest rate hike next week.

Inflation lifted to 3.8 per cent in the year to June, from 3.6 per cent in March, but the Reserve Bank’s preferred measure of underlying inflation dropped slightly to 3.9 per cent, from 4 per cent.
