Η δεύτερη φάση του διαγωνισμού για τη διάθεση ποσοστού 20% της θυγατρικής εταιρείας του ΑΔΜΗΕ, “Αριάδνη Interconnection ΑΕΕΣ”, ολοκληρώθηκε στις 26.07.2024. Η State Grid International Development Belgium Ltd υπέβαλε δεσμευτική προσφορά και η διαδικασία αξιολόγησης έχει ξεκινήσει από τον ΑΔΜΗΕ. Η ηλεκτρική διασύνδεση Κρήτης-Αττικής είναι το μεγαλύτερο και πολυπλοκότερο έργο μεταφοράς ηλεκτρικής ενέργειας στην Ελλάδα, με ικανότητα μεταφοράς 1GW τεχνολογίας συνεχούς ρεύματος (DC). Το έργο χρησιμοποιεί την καινοτόμο τεχνολογία VSC για τη μετατροπή του εναλλασσόμενου ρεύματος σε συνεχές και βρίσκεται σε προχωρημένο στάδιο κατασκευής. Οι εργασίες καλωδίωσης και ανέγερσης του εξοπλισμού συνεχίζονται προκειμένου να ακολουθήσει η ηλέκτριση του καλωδίου.
