The 20-year-old Sydneysider ******* to start the first race on Tuesday after missing the two-minute window following the starting signal, but he then enjoyed four top-10 finishes, capped by his victory in the fourth race. “I put all my skills together and ended up winning a race, so it feels good to know that I have it there,” said Morris, who ended up in seventh place after six races behind Dutch leader Luuc van Opzeeland. “I just need to keep performing and make the most of the next couple races to climb up the leaderboard.” The women’s skiff duo, Olivia Price and Evie Haseldine have dropped one place to sixth overall with three races left before the prospect of a medal race on Thursday. The Dutch duo of Odile van Aanholt and Annette Duetz are leading the competition. “The regatta is still wide open and there’s a lot that we can still do in the next three races tomorrow,” said the London 2012 silver medallist Price. Jim Colley and Shaun Connor enjoyed their best performance yet in the men’s skiff, with a third place in the penultimate race of the day but they lie 15th out of 20 crews overall. Leading the way are Diego Botin and Florian Trittel. The Spanish pair have taken over from New Zealand duo Isaac McHardie and William McKenzie, who slipped to third in the standings.
