Καταιγίδες αναμένονται στο Παρίσι μετά τις 18:00, καθώς διεξάγονται οι Ολυμπιακοί Αγώνες, με τη γαλλική μετεωρολογική υπηρεσία να εκδίδει προειδοποίηση. Οι βροχοπτώσεις μπορεί να επηρεάσουν πολλά αθλήματα που λαμβάνουν χώρα σε ανοιχτούς χώρους. Η προσπάθεια βελτίωσης της ποιότητας του νερού στον Σηκουάνα έχει κοστίσει 1,4 δισ. ευρώ με αντανάκλαση τις ανησυχίες για την ασφάλεια των αθλητών. Μετά τη βροχή στην τελετή έναρξης, η ρύπανση στον Σηκουάνα ξεπέρασε τα όρια, με αποτέλεσμα την ακύρωση και αναβολή αγώνων κολύμβησης. Παρά τις προσπάθειες βελτίωσης, η ποιότητα του νερού παραμένει αμφισβητήσιμη. Οι αθλητές εκφράζουν ανησυχίες για την επιβάρυνση της κατάστασης και ζητούν εναλλακτικά σχέδια για την ασφάλειά τους.
