The Next Pokemon Go Adventure Week Makes it Seem Like Niantic Listened to the Complaints

Pokemon Go, the AR mobile game from developer Niantic is quite popular and has a massive fanbase. Since its release in 2016, the game has always brought time-limited events with rare Pokemon and rewards to keep players engaged.

The yearly limited-time event, Adventure Week is one of the most popular among fans but the recent one was criticized quite a lot. The developer has now announced another Adventure Week event and it seems like Niantic listened to the feedback and acted on it.

Niantic Announces Pokemon Go Adventure Week: Taken Over After Backlash on Previous Event

The most recent announcement of Pokemon Go Adventure Week from Niantic was hated by fans as they found it disappointing and unrewarding. Players were frustrated about spawns, shiny versions of Pokemon limited to eggs and research tasks, and more.

The developer seemed to have taken notes and has now

the Team Rocket takeover event called Adventure Week: Taken Over. The event will bring Team Go Rocket and chaos with them to the game and players may have the chance to battle it out against them including Giovanni.

The Adventure Week: Taken Over will run from Thursday, August 8, 2024, at 12 AM to Monday, August 12, 2024, at 11:59 PM local time. As part of the event, Pokemon Go Shadow Cresselia will make its debut to the game as part of a new Special Research story at the start of the event.

Pokemon Go Shadow Lugia will also return to the game during Taken Over and will be available through 5-Star Raids on Saturday, August 10 and Sunday, August 11. There are chances that players may encounter a Shiny one. However, Shadow Suicune will not appear during the event.

The Event Will Also Bring Several Shadow Pokémon, Raids, Bonuses, and More

The event bonuses during the Taken Over event are Team GO Rocket appearing more frequently at PokéStops and in balloons and players can use a Charged TM to help a Shadow Pokémon forget the Charged ******* Frustration. There are also several Shadow Pokémon joining.

The Shadow Pokemon include Shadow Timburr, Shadow Tirtouga, and Shadow Archen. The Pokemon appearing in Raids during the event include four One Star Pokemon namely Shadow Mareep, Shadow Wooper, Shadow Cranidos, and Shadow Shieldon.

The three star Pokemon are Shadow Nuzleaf, Shadow Manectric, and Shadow Vibrava. The event-themed Field Research tasks will also be available and the Research rewards are Mysterious Components, Charged TMs, and Fast TMs. There may also be Showcases at different PokéStops for players to enter event-themed Pokémon!
