Η νέα κυβέρνηση των Εργατικών στη Βρετανία είναι ανοιχτή στην επιστροφή των Γλυπτών του Παρθενώνα στην Αθήνα με καθεστώς μακροπρόθεσμου δανεισμού. Ο υπουργός Πολιτισμού Κρις Μπραϊαντ εξέφρασε υποστήριξη προς αυτήν την ιδέα, τονίζοντας τη συνεργασία του Βρετανικού Μουσείου με την ελληνική κυβέρνηση. Η διαμάχη για τα Γλυπτά του Παρθενώνα διαρκεί αιώνες, με τον πρώην υπουργό Οικονομικών Τζορτζ Όσμπορν να προσπαθεί να επιτύχει μια συμφωνία για την επιστροφή τους. Η θέση του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου είναι ότι η απόκτησή τους ήταν νόμιμη, ενώ η Ελλάδα επιμένει στο αντίθετο. Η διευθύντρια του Βρετανικού Μουσείου προσπαθεί να βρει λύση μέσω διπλωματικών συναντήσεων. Η λύση του θέματος θα μπορούσε να ενισχύσει τις προσπάθειες του Κιρ Στάρμερ για την ενίσχυση των σχέσεών του με την Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση.
