Silent *******: Plea to help end Broome bats barbed wire entanglements

A national bat expert is calling on the Broome community to paint their barbed-wire fences in an effort to reduce the number of bat entanglement deaths at night.

Lawrence Pope said barbed wire was one of the biggest killers of flying foxes across Australia, but putting a piece of white tape every 600mm along barbed wire or painting it white could significantly reduce the number of deaths.
