Η βρετανική αστυνομία συνέλαβε έναν 17χρονο ύποπτο μετά από επίθεση με μαχαίρι σε πόλη της βορειοδυτικής Αγγλίας, κατά την οποία τουλάχιστον οκτώ άνθρωποι τραυματίστηκαν, συμπεριλαμβανομένων και παιδιών. Ο ύποπτος συνελήφθη και κατασχέθηκε ένα μαχαίρι. Η αστυνομία δεν υποψιάζεται τρομοκρατική ενέργεια. Οι αρχές διεξάγουν έρευνες για το κίνητρο της επίθεσης. Οι τραυματίες μεταφέρθηκαν σε νοσοκομεία, μεταξύ αυτών το παιδιατρικό Άλντερ Χέι. Ο πρωθυπουργός Κιρ Στάρμερ ευχαρίστησε την αστυνομία και τις υπηρεσίες πρώτων βοηθειών για την αντίδρασή τους.
