The list ranked the beaches on seclusion, popularity with couples, heat, sunsets, romantic restaurants and LGBTQIA friendliness, with Cable Beach scoring a high of 53.2 out of 60.

“When it comes to romantic retreats, Cable Beach in Kimberley, north-western Australia, ranks as the world’s ultimate beach destination,” the website said.

“With 22 kilometers of silky white sand melting into the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean, flanked by dunes and dramatic reddish cliffs, this paradise offers a superlative setting for relaxation.
