Takeover target Pacific Smiles backs $300m National Dental Care bid after Genesis Capital ups offer

The bidding war for east coast dental services chain Pacific Smiles is heating up, with private equity group Genesis Capital coming back with a sweetened takeover offer to match rival National Dental Care’s $300 million proposal.

Healthcare-focused Genesis, which already holds a 19.9 per cent stake in Newcastle-based Pacific Smiles, has lobbed a revised $1.90 offer to acquire all of the target’s shares by way of scheme of arrangement.
