WA’s much-hyped supermax prison — designed as a punishment unit for the State’s most uncontrollably ferocious bikies — is being used as a rehab centre and housing some of the meekest inmates in the system.

Chronic overcrowding has forced prison bosses to re-purpose what is one of the most expensive and secure jailhouses ever built in WA.
