Η Marvel Studios ανακοίνωσε ότι ο Robert Downey Jr. θα πρωταγωνιστήσει σε δύο νέες ταινίες Avengers, όχι ως Ironman αλλά ως Doctor ***** από τους Fantastic Four. Οι ταινίες Avengers: Doomsday και Avengers: Secret Wars αναμένεται να κυκλοφορήσουν το 2026 και το 2027 αντίστοιχα. Ο Kevin Feige επιβεβαίωσε ότι οι αδελφοί Russo θα σκηνοθετήσουν τις δύο ταινίες. Μετά από την αποχώρησή του από τον ρόλο του Iron Man, ο Downey επιστρέφει με έναν νέο ρόλο που αναμένεται να εντυπωσιάσει τους θεατές. Σε μια εκδήλωση, οι Russo παρουσίασαν το μοναδικό πρόσωπο που θα μπορούσε να υποδυθεί τον Doctor *****, τον ίδιο τον Downey. Η συνεργασία της Marvel με τον ηθοποιό ξεκίνησε το 2008 και αυτή η επιστροφή του αναμένεται να είναι εξίσου επιτυχημένη με τις προηγούμενες ταινίες Avengers που συμμετείχε.
