Brazilian steakhouse in Gaslamp Quarter catches *****; 50 people displaced

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A ***** broke out Friday at a four-story building with a Brazilian steakhouse and apartment units in the Gaslamp Quarter, firefighters said.

The ***** occurred around 7:27 p.m. in Rei Do Gado Brazilian Steakhouse at 939 Fourth Avenue, according to the San Diego *****-Rescue Department.

FOX 5/KUSI received photos and videos from Comic-**** attendees of the ***** spewing ****** smoke.

***** officials say the ***** started in the kitchen and extended up four stories, displacing 50 people.

Multiple buildings nearby, including one that had 1,200 guests visiting for Comic-**** viewing a movie, were forced to evacuate as well due to the blaze.

Firefighters were able to put out the flames fairly quickly, but they remain on scene to monitor the *****.

Road closures in the area have detoured Broadway bus routes 3, 225, 901, 929, 992 and Rapid 225, per the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System. Riders are advised to take the trolley if traveling through downtown.
