One Antarctica flight in 2025

Antarctica Flights will be back, for their 30th year, with day flights to the great white continent.

There is one flight from Perth, on February 9, 2025, with prices from $1199 for an economy seat and $7999 for business class.

But there are also two flights each from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, starting from November. The flight from Melbourne on December 31 will be special, as the first flight by this *********** company flew from here on New Year’s Eve 1994.

The flights are on a privately chartered Qantas 787 Dreamliner, across the Southern Ocean to Antarctica.

Each flight plan aims to maximise the chances for passengers to get good views from both sides of the aircraft. The plane, with its big windows, should be over Antarctica for up to four hours.

Bas Bosschieter, CEO of Antarctica Flights, says: “Our flights are more than just a journey — they’re an immersive, once-in-a-lifetime Antarctic experience.

“Antarctica Flights make the bucket list dream of seeing the great white continent completely accessible; we offer a unique perspective from the air that allows passengers to appreciate how vast Antarctica is.”

+ The flights range from 12 to 14 hours long, with about 220 passengers per flight.

+ The plane covers between 9500km and 10,500km for the round trip.

A spokesperson adds: “As Antarctica faces increasing environmental challenges, Antarctica Flights ******** dedicated to raising awareness and supporting initiatives that contribute to the preservation of this unique wilderness.

“Every flight is carbon-offset to minimise its environmental impact, and Antarctica Flights is committed to supporting ongoing research through their partnership with the Antarctic Science Foundation, an international charity investing in Antarctic research to better understand and protect the region and the planet from climate change.”
