The Absence of Some Elden Ring Lore Points to the Most Horrifying Fact About The Lands Between

Elden Ring can be full of details that you’d rather ignore for the sake of your own sanity. For instance, Living Jars are something in the Lands Between that’s so disturbing, that it may be best to not look into it.

On a similar note, a player has raised a question regarding the existence of certain structures in the game. These resemble gigantic beings that look oddly familiar, yet we don’t really know where they come from.

take the time out to explore certain pieces of lore that FromSoftware seemingly ignored. User ShreddedChettar happens to be one of those people, and a new mystery regarding the world’s architecture has come to light.

The player points out how certain structures in the game resemble giant beings, and they wonder why FromSoftware chose to skip this part of the lore. The comments reflect these sentiments, and everyone seems to have their theories regarding the same.

Comments are making references to other bits in Elden Ring that represent a similar aesthetic, and it’s left to the imagination what exactly these structures are. Many assume these are made of ***** beings from the history of the Lands Between. ******* on Titan fans are gonna love this interpretation.

Wouldn’t it be interesting to explore this a bit further in another expansion? Or maybe that’s just a fantasy Shadow of the Erdtree fans are going to have, hoping for another DLC that may just never come.

Such Grotesque Details Aren’t Surprising

If it’s not disturbing, is it really something by FromSoftware? Image Credit: FromSoftware

It’s not new for players to come across disturbing details about the game’s lore, and at this point, it just feels like FromSoftware actively chooses to tell such stories. Brand significance? Hidetaka Miyazaki’s love for twisted stories? The reason can be anything.

Shadow of the Erdtree has been particularly violent and gruesome in giving fans further insight into Messmer’s wrath and all that the Hornsent went through when trying to maintain supremacy in the Land of Shadow.

Moreover, there have also been questionable perspectives on the Tarnished’s true nature and whether or not the player is ultimately the antagonist in the story, rather than being a so-called hero.

Even though many of these perceptions and narrative directions may seem ludicrous in nature, it is something that sets FromSoftware’s universes (including Elden Ring) apart in the world of action-adventure games.

What are your thoughts on the game’s disturbing lore pieces? According to you, what has been the most twisted tale told in the Lands Between? Let us know in the comments below.
