Western derby: Optus Stadium boss Mike McKenna hoses down concerns over playing surface

Optus Stadium has allayed fears over its playing surface and is confident its turf will hold up in the back-end of the AFL season, after Fremantle coach Justin Longmuir said it had been an issue all year.

The Dockers were behind the call to move a curtain-raiser to Saturday night’s western derby between the women’s State under-18s team and Claremont’s WAFLW team because of forecast rain.
