Three men accused of forcing teenagers into arranged marriage in first charge of its kind in WA

Three men have appeared in court accused of forcing two teenagers into an arranged marriage — the first time anyone in WA has been charged with the offence by federal authorities.

The trio, two of whom are related to a boy and the other who is related to a girl, faced Perth Magistrates Court on Friday over allegations they made the pair enter into the matrimonial union last year for cultural reasons.
