Western derby: West Coast Eagles star Jeremy McGovern out of Fremantle Dockers clash with lung injury

West Coast star Jeremy McGovern has been ruled out of Saturday night’s western derby with a rib and lung injury.

Eagles interim coach Jarrad Schofield confirmed at a ****** press conference on Friday that McGovern had ******* a fitness test earlier in the day and will miss a third straight game with the injury he picked up against Melbourne earlier this month.

Jack Petruccelle will replace him in the side.

McGovern was injured in a collision during that game and spent time in hospital.

He trained on Tuesday and was named in the Eagles’ team when it was released on Thursday night.

Schofield said McGovern was desperate to play in teammate and good friend Tom Barrass’ 150th game.

The Eagles recalled veteran forward Jack Darling and welcomed back fellow stars Elliot Yeo and Jake Waterman from injury.
