Ο Ισραηλινός πρωθυπουργός, Μπενιαμίν Νετανιάχου, επισκέφθηκε τον Λευκό Οίκο για να συναντηθεί με τον Αμερικανό πρόεδρο, Τζο Μπάιντεν, με στόχο να προωθήσει τις διαπραγματεύσεις για τη Γάζα. Συνάντηση που έρχεται σε περίοδο αυξανόμενων πιέσεων για την εξεύρεση λύσης στον εννεάμηνο πόλεμο που έχει προκαλέσει χιλιάδες νεκρούς. Κατά τη συνάντησή τους, οι δύο ηγέτες εκφράστηκαν θετικά για τη συνεργασία τους στο μέλλον, ενώ ο Μπάιντεν προέτρεψε το Ισραήλ και τη Χαμάς να συμφωνήσουν γρήγορα σε ένα deal κατάπαυσης του πυρός. Παρά τις ελπίδες για συμφωνία, υπάρχουν ακόμη ζητήματα που πρέπει να επιλυθούν. Οι αντιπρόσωποι του Λευκού Οίκου αναφέρουν ότι οι διαπραγματεύσεις βρίσκονται σε τελικό στάδιο, ωστόσο κάποια ηγεσία και συμβιβασμός είναι απαραίτητα για την επίτευξη συμφωνίας.
