How to Fix Controller Issues in CONSCRIPT on PC

CONSCRIPT is a top-down survival horror game from Jordan Mochi, Catchweight, and Team17 which is now available on PC and consoles. This terrifying game is set in the bleakest moments of human history, and CONSCRIPT uses the setting quite well. Though this will run on anything thanks to its low requirements, there are a few issues that can get in the way of the experience. If your controller isn’t working properly in CONSCRIPT with incorrect inputs, here is how you can fix that.

Fixing CONSCRIPT Controller Issues

To make sure your controllers work properly while playing CONSCRIPT, make sure Steam Input is enabled, as well as support for generic controllers in Steam settings.

Enable Steam Input

• Make sure CONSCRIPT isn’t running
• Open Steam, and navigate to your library
• Here, right-click on CONSCRIPT and select Properties
• In the Controller tab, select the Enable Steam Input option under Override for CONSCRIPT

Enable Steam Input for Generic Controllers

As an added measure, we want to enable support for different types of controllers to account for any controller types as well. To do this, follow the steps below.

• Close the game, and unplug your controller
• In the client, select the Steam option at the top left followed by Settings
• Now, select the Controller tab
• Here, toggle on all these options

After you’re done, simply plug the controller back in, and launch CONSCRIPT again. For most users, this should do the trick, and we recommend using a wired connection to avoid any issues. Additionally, if you have more than one controller plugged in, remove that for now.

You can also enable these in Big Picture Mode, which we recommend doing just in case.

• In the Steam Client, select View, followed by Big Picture Mode
• Go into Settings, followed by Controller
• Toggle the same settings as above

Check Detected Controllers

If you still can’t get your controllers to work, make sure Steam is detecting the ones you have plugged in. To check detected controllers in the Steam client, simply select Steam > Settings > Controller:

After that, you should be good to go, and the controllers should work properly as the developers intended.
