A Perth mayor has faced a grilling from councillors and ratepayers over a $3300 trip to Busselton gifted by an Indonesian coal mining company.

City of Bayswater mayor Filomena Piffaretti told Tuesday night’s council meeting that she was invited to the South West in March to “meet with potential investors to talk about investment opportunities across the city”.
