Mortal Kombat’s Kameo System Was Nearly a Full Tag-Team Mechanic Before NetherRealm Pulled Back

When Mortal Kombat 1 was first released in September of last year, it featured one of the most hated game modes ever. The Kameo system is not something players were ever excited to see, especially due to the bar set by its preceding mode.

The Tag-team mode was considered one of the most enjoyable modes in the game as it gave full control over 2 characters to be used simultaneously while playing online or against a friend offline. Kmeo mode does not even come close to Tag-Team mode.

Mortal Kombat 1’s Tag Team Mode VS Kameo

The tag-team mode from Mortal Kombat was removed in the latest game to make space for a new mode known as Kameo, which revolved around the same framework as the tag-team. The only big difference between the two modes was concerning the control over both characters in the game.

In tag-team mode, players had full control over both characters that could be switched in between fights, making the game more interesting and fun. However, with the introduction of Kameo NetherReal, the developer behind the game took away that control from us.

This was widely criticized by a lot of players all around the world. The tag-team mode was a fan favorite, as it did a really good job of providing a space for creative thinking to flourish. There were a lot of different combos that were made possible, all thanks to tag team mode.

Players are still hoping to see the mode come back in the second year of the game.

Kameo mode is a relatively easier mode to incorporate in the game as it requires less effort from the developer by removing the control of one character from the game, but taking this path has caused a lot of distress among Mortal Kombat fans, and they want to see the mode back in its full glory.

Kameo Mode Does Not Come Near To Tag Team

The reason tag team mode was more interesting was because it did not let the experience of the game turn mundane, as it constantly kept players engaged in a ****** by allowing them to alter their play styles and act more creatively.

Kameo mode, on the other hand, only allowed them to choose a defensive or attacking character to assist them automatically in between matches, which started to become annoying after a point and made the experience mundane and boring.

NetherRealm needs to sit back and reflect. This small feature can really cause a lot of problems for them by decreasing the replayability of the game, as it will become boring for most players. If the game is to stand the test of time, it needs to bring back tag team mode and get rid of the Kameo once and for all.
