Apparent *******-******** north of Modesto. Man and woman found ***** in car are ID’d

The bodies of two people found in a car near the intersection of Hammett Road and Highway 99 in Salida on Sunday evening have been identified by the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office.

The man and woman are believed to have been ******* in a *******-********, California Highway Patrol spokesman Officer Tom Olsen said.

The Modesto ***** Department reported that it responded to a call of an ******** with a deadly ******* at about 6 p.m. Olsen said the 911 call indicated domestic *********. Emergency personnel that also included Stanislaus sheriff’s deputies found a Honda sedan parked on the east shoulder of the Hammett off-ramp. In it were the two bodies.

The man was identified as 59-year old Modesto resident Ghulam Sharifi. The woman was 45-year-old Modesto resident Nooria Sharifi.

A ****** used in the killings was recovered, Olsen said.

The case is being investigated by the CHP.

“The CHP would like to emphasize there is no lingering threat tho the public,” the report reads.
