Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree Missed 1 Bloodborne Callback Hidetaka Miyazaki Will Be Kicking Himself Over Not Including

Elden Ring’s vast landscape brings players to a realm that gives them a plethora of options to choose from when it comes to combat. Shadow of the Erdtree builds on this experience, and offers players a larger ******* pool to consider.

However, even with these new additions, players are making a comparison with Bloodborne’s Trick Weapons, and wondering if these would improve the game’s existing collection of combat tools.

Elden Ring Players Would Love to Spice up the Gameplay With Trick Weapons

that asked the community to wonder what would be ideal additions to Elden Ring‘s DLC. Precisely, everything that’s missing from the expansion at the moment.

Many comments spoke about the ideal way lore could be expanded, or how new game mechanics could be introduced. Among these, a mention of Bloodborne took the spotlight.

Player, Kalecraft, mentioned how they would have preferred weapons that would be direct inspirations of Trick Weapons found in the game. FromSoftware’s dark setting was all about using deadly (yet stylish) weapons, and Elden Ring could have benefited from that.

Even though the game’s expansion has eight new types of weapons that can be used by players, having combat tools that would replicate a Trick *******’s moveset could fit right into the Land of Shadow’s grotesque environments.

Moreover, it would give players a chance to build a completely new playstyle that they may have not tried before in the game.

Bloodborne’s Weapons Could Make the Game Much More Menacing

At present, there are certain ways that can help players mimic Bloodborne’s unique experience in Elden Ring. However, it’s pretty limited and doesn’t truly explore the extent to which players can test out their *******’s movesets.

A saw-blade that switches its moveset mid-animation could make Shadow of the Erdtree one big devilish experience. Unfortunately, FromSoftware simply didn’t want to include this in the game and we don’t really know why.

A part of the reason could be that FromSoftware’s latest universe needed to be its own unique experience, and it wouldn’t benefit from re-using older mechanics. Or, Trick Weapons would not fit in this realm according to the studio.

Whatever the actual reason may be, players who wish to enjoy older game mechanics can’t really do so at the moment, and have to rely on existing methods. It’s honestly a surprise to even have certain animations that resemble a game like Sekiro: Shadows **** Twice.

If it were up to you, what kind of weapons would you include in the game? Would you prefer something that FromSoftware has already done before? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
