Diamond Member Pelican Press 0 Posted March 26 Diamond Member Share Posted March 26 7 things I wish I knew before going into the Dragon’s Dogma 2 endgame There are seven things I wish I had known before starting the endgame in Dragon’s Dogma 2. To help you make an educated decision before you roll credits the first time, here’s what you need to know. If you want to play Dragon’s Dogma 2’s true ending — and trust me, you do — you need to know a few things. There are special rules that apply before, during, and after the true ending that you need to know about before deciding you’re ready. The first thing you should know is that when you finish the true ending in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you are forced into New Game Plus. This isn’t the case for the regular ending, by the way. Instead of being able to load back into your regular endgame save to clean up loose ends and enjoy the world of Dragon’s Dogma 2, the only way you can get back into Dragon’s Dogma 2 is to start NG+. You do get to keep all your gear (it’s in storage), Gold, RC, and other valuables, but it’s a frustrating feature that you need to know about. I didn’t unlock Magick Archer or Warfarer before finishing Dragon’s Dogma 2, and when I went to get them after starting the true ending, I realized I couldn’t. Parts of the map are locked off during true ending. Also, since NG+ starts immediately after finishing the true ending, I need to go all the way back to Volcano Island from Melve with no oxcarts or Ferrystones. Screenshot: PC Invasion When you start the true ending, you need to know that it’s a permadeath mode. If you **** at all, you restart from the very beginning of true ending regardless of your saves. You can lose hours of gameplay if you **** during true ending, so be careful. Since the true ending is a permadeath mode, you need to keep Wakestones on you at all times. I recommend having at least two or three Wakestones on you during true ending. If you **** with a Wakestone in your inventory, you can choose to revive which allows you to avoid losing all your progress during true ending. Screenshot: PC Invasion Adventures during true ending are especially challenging because you can’t rest or eat at camps. Camping is also another way to remove Dragonsplague. Just know that your adventures will be much shorter since the only way to rest during true ending is at an Inn. When you start true ending, many quests you had active before will be removed. I recommend you take time before finishing Dragon’s Dogma 2 to finish as many quests as you can since you won’t be able to get them again… except in NG+. If you still decide to experience the true ending in Dragon’s Dogma 2, the first thing you need to do is farm the Ferrystones on the sea floor. Since the ocean is gone in true ending, you’ll be able to walk to and from Bakbattahl and Harve Village. Along the way, you’ll find dozens of Ferrystones in chests and dropped from skeletons. Since oxcarts don’t work in true ending, you need as many Ferrystones as you can get. PC Invasion is supported by our audience.
