According to police, it happened shortly after 8:30 a.m. on July 16 in the 4700 block of West Charleston Boulevard near Decatur Boulevard. Officers driving near the scene spotted a ****** in the parking lot between three men, which was later determined to be a robbery between the men. According to police, Turner started to drive away from the officer at a slow speed in the parking lot. The officer followed and observed the vehicle become high-centered on a median. Turner’s vehicle reversed, and his vehicle and the patrol car collided. Turner then drove the vehicle a short distance from the patrol vehicle and stopped, police said. The officer issued verbal commands to Turner to exit the vehicle. He exited by crawling out of the vehicle and immediately lay on the ground. An additional officer arrived, and Turner was taken into custody and handcuffed at which time medical was requested, according to police.
