Ed Boon Teases the Return of 2 Brutal Mechanics to Mortal Kombat, and We All Missed It

In the fighting genre, few games are as popular as Mortal Kombat, and over the years, it has gained more popularity with its immersive graphics and various collaborations. The franchise has iconic characters and finishers, which make the experience much better.

However, some of the finishing moves were removed from the latest game due to them being too violent or considered unsuitable for the game. Among all the finishing moves, players eagerly want Babalities or Animalities or both to make a return, and it looks like their request might be heard soon.

Mortal Kombat 1 Might Surprise Players With the Return of Two Beloved Mechanics

Mortal Kombat 1 is the 12th iteration of the original game and has an iconic pool of characters. However, players still feel that the game will be complete when they see the return of finishing moves like Babalities and Animalities, Not Friendships as it was present in the previous game.

For those players who are unfamiliar with these classic mechanics, they were first introduced in the early iterations of the Mortal Kombat games. The main reason behind their introduction was to replace the infamous finishing move called Fatalities. While Fatalities were the over-the-top executions of defeated opponents, Babalities and Animalities took a more normal yet playful approach.

Players were asking the developers and Ed Boon, co-creator, to bring back these moves in the series, but there has been no sign of their return. However, remember the video from last year’s Comic-****, where Boon told the interviewer that he is thinking about bringing a mechanic not done recently?

Those moves would be new finishers besides the Friendship. After remembering this interview, players are once again hopeful that they will see the return of the brutal mechanics in future updates.

Players love the over-the-top nature of these moves and want them in the latest game.

While some players are trying to find the pattern of these mechanics returning to the game.

The potential return of these two mechanics has ignited buzz and nostalgia among the series’ fans, who still remember the pleasure of executing the finishing moves.

In the modern gaming industry, many studios are pushing to bring realism and cinematic experiences into their games. NetherRealm Studios has the golden opportunity to reintroduce the over-the-top finishing moves.

These moves will provide a refreshing throwback to the series’ roots and showcase what made the whole series fun and exciting to play.

Recently, the game has been facing a content drought and it is expected that the studio will try to bring back player engagement, and what’s better than bringing back beloved mechanics. As the community eagerly awaits future announcements, one thing is clear: the return of Animalities could start a significant turning point for the franchise.

In the end, players will still continue to enjoy the game and will not stop demanding Boon and his team to bring back iconic mechanics or introduce new ones.
