Marvel Rivals is an upcoming online multiplayer game where the gaming community can select their favorite Marvel heroes and villains and ****** against ****** players. It is an ambitious project for the developers to undertake to deliver an authentic superhero experience.

The developers opted to use the PvE approach especially with the game industry being overrun by competitive games. This is an opportunity to give the obscure characters of the Marvel brand to shine and showcase their abilities which is key to this game’s success.

The Developers Are Already Making Changes to Marvel Rivals Before Launch

NetEase Games is no stranger to online multiplayer games and is more than up for the challenge of bringing this project to life. The gaming community was rocked when the developers announced that new characters will join the roster in Marvel Rivals.

Fans took this as a sign that new heroes and villains will be introduced throughout the years. Iconic villains like Venom from the Spider-Man comics and a member of Guardians of the Galaxy like Adam Warlock are set to become playable characters in the game.

It looks like Adam Warlock has been nerfed behind the scenes since his initial reveal. The video on the left is from May 30th, and the one on the right is from July 19th. Adam’s Regenerative Cocoon cooldown has been doubled from 60 seconds to 120 seconds. Interesting!

Adam is one of the most powerful beings in Marvel and the developers need to get his powers and abilities right without making him too overpowered. Balancing and scaling are important for a multiplayer game to avoid players feeling like they are being scammed.

The gaming community is vocal now more than ever. They call out something they think is not right which is not ideal for a brand new game entering the live-service market, especially with the fierce competition.

The game is set to be released sometime next year and NetEase Games invited a few select players for a beta testing and used their feedback to make the necessary adjustments. Adam’s abilities have been significantly nerfed and the cooldown for his regenerative cocoon ability has been doubled for a more balanced experience.

Being one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel lore needs to be reflected in his gameplay. Adam can decimate any foe as seen in previous adaptations like in Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 where he singlehandedly took on the entire team with ease, and that was only a fraction of his full potential.

The developers are taking the player’s feedback and hope to remedy the game before it launches. Many have noticed Iron Man’s mobility as a major problem and it is an outcry to his live-action counterpart of being able to fly at top speed.

There will always be problems in a multiplayer game but fixing the gameplay and mechanics needs to be a priority. NetEase Games can only launch a game once and be done in earnest.

Fans are eager to see what the developers have in store and try out their favorite characters. Hopefully, all the wrinkles will be ironed out before release.
